OpenAI has officially launched Sora, a tool used to generate realistic videos with artificial intelligence.
Sora, OpenAI’s tool for generating videos with artificial intelligence, was officially launched on Monday (9). It had previously been announced in February 2024 and was in the testing phase.
The tool is available to ChatGPT subscribers in all countries where artificial intelligence can be used, except for the United Kingdom and the European Union.
Users can create fifty 20-second videos per month in 480p resolution. ChatGPT Pro subscribers can generate unlimited videos at a slower speed or 500 videos at a faster speed.
Sora features a “remix” option to edit videos generated from text prompts. In a video published by OpenAI, mammoths generated in a video were transformed into robots.
To indicate that they were generated with artificial intelligence, videos made with Sora will have visible watermarks and C2PA metadata. Users must confirm they are not generating and sharing images of minors, explicit or violent content.
Now you can generate entirely new videos from text, bring images to life, or extend, remix, or blend videos you already have. We’ve developed new interfaces to allow easier prompting, creative controls, and community sharing: https://t.co/HMcAKwaCCw pic.twitter.com/gtMiFkT6GB
